Sue Kayton and Michael Barclay

With the recent DDOS attacks, hacking of the political campaigns and increasing online fraud, security and privacy are hot topics for computer users. Sue and Michael will moderate an open forum to discuss some of the principles of these subjects and answer your questions.

sue-kayton-100Sue Kayton (The Computer Doctor) is an MIT graduate with degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering. A former spacecraft design engineer, since 1986 she has been providing complete computer support for small businesses and people’s homes. This includes data recovery, migration to a new computer, troubleshooting, website design, password recovery, backup implementation, advice on purchases.

michael-barclayMichael Barclay is Special Counsel to the Electronic Frontier Foundation, specializing in the fields of patent, copyright, trade secret, and trademark litigation and client counseling, with a particular focus on electronics-related areas. Before entering the legal field, Michael was an engineer at Hughes Aircraft and at Intel Corporation. Michael received his J.D. degree from the UCLA School of Law in 1979, and A.B. (Physics) and M.S.E.E. degrees from the University of California, Berkeley.

November is the month for elections for SPAUG  officers. Most of the current slate of officers has volunteered to continue but a nominee for treasurer is needed. Nominations from the floor will be accepted at the business meeting and then the vote will be taken.

The meeting will be held at the Palo Alto Elks Lodge, 4249 El Camino Real, Palo Alto. NOTE: We will be meeting in the Library/Card Room across the hall from the Lodge Room. All members and guests are invited to attend an optional NO-host dinner prior to our general meeting. Dinner will be at 5:45 PM at The Bistro located on the ground floor of the Elks Lodge.
