Alameda County sheriff using new technology to keep police dogs from overheating in cars

“KRON 4’s Alecia Reid was in Dublin to tell us how it works. With the current system, once it reaches 88 degrees inside, the alarm normally goes off, windows roll down, and a fan activates to keep the dog cool until the handler arrives. Before, a pager was used to alert the sheriff, but he had to be within a certain distance. The new technology will give him a heads up wherever he is.”
