A decade before the web began taking the rest of us online, France was fully connected. By 1984 six million citizens were reading newspapers, sending emails, buying train tickets, paying taxes and engaging in scandalous chat on the Minitel system.

DRONE TECHNOLOGY
Manie Kohn will discuss the use of drone aircraft (UAVs) in real estate photography, emergency services and law enforcement. Manie’s standing in the industry as an educator, instructor and an industry leading “Drone-O-Grapher” has gained him unique relationships with Emergency Services and Law Enforcement including San Mateo County Sheriff Department, San Francisco Fire Department, San Mateo County Harbor Patrol.

Maurice Green has been involved in a number of local elections in support of grass-roots initiatives and local candidates. He will demonstrate and discuss some of the uses of computer technology in election campaigns.

The January 2019 SPAUG meeting will feature two separate lectures by SPAUG President Maurice Green:
- Tips and Tricks for Video Editing – Maury will demonstrate some of the special effects which can be achieved with a video editing program like Pinnacle Studio or Adobe Premiere. Topics will include exposure adjustment, lower third titling, combining stills and video and producing animated gifs.
- So You Want to Build a Website – This lecture will be the first in a series of lectures for the long anticipated WordPress class. We will discuss the evolution of websites from simple HTML to modern day mobile responsive CMS systems. The lecture will cover the basic elements of a website, setting up a local web server on your computer and installing the WordPress system.
Learn the basics about your public access channels and how you can best make use of them. This event is designed to answer your questions, explore what you’d like to do and help you get started. Includes signing up for classes and a tour of the facility. Recommended for all users of public access Channels 27, 28, & 30.”
